     Questionnaire for survey of development of cameras   16.04.02

                   Please  answer the questions by ticking the relevant alternative box or filling the details indicated.

1.           What is the body number (on back of folding foot)  

                     (Please use a magnifier, threes, sixes & eight's can be confused).

2.           Is the main body gloss black paint , or crackle finish paint  or leather covered

3            Are the side castings cross hatched or crackle finish paint

4.           Is the non-opening side embossed VEST POCKET KODAK?     Yes       No

                       and what is the total of  rivet or  screw heads that appear on this side, 2   or  3 ?    please state number

5.           Does the opening side have the words LOCK   OPEN either side of the catch?

6.           Is the camera Non-Autographic       or Autographic

             6a. If Autographic is the wording on the plate either:-

                         If ‘yes’; does this indicate made in USA  or made in Canada

10.        The escutcheon (plate around the lens), except for very early types, has a number

             (it needs a magnifier to identify). please identify the plate and  ring the plate number below

             or, if not included, indicate the  number in the box below

10a.       Is there a dimple stamped into the escutcheon to limit the movement of the aperture lever to the left?

11 .       Are the lazy tong angles fixed to the front plate with rivets    or screws

 

12.          The Ball Bearing shutter is usual (ie.  25.B.T.50). If yes indicate. If not give details.

       12a.     Is there a cable release bracket fixed between the viewfinder and shutter release

13.      Look at the viewfinder lens:-  Is the frame around it a single ring or a double ring

           13a. Look at the viewfinder body:- Does it have a handle to assist turning it?

14.              Does the bellows have square corners or chamfered corners

15.              When the foot is extended down is its movement limited by a pin

                   or by the lazy tong angle

17.          Look underneath where the lazy tongs join the front, is there a tapered bar joining

               the two sides yes no

               17a..       If no tapering rod; look at the innermost strip of metal (this is formed from

                                 a flat spring)at the bottom of the side angles to the lazy tong;

                                 Has it got a flat rounded end  

                                 or has it a hooked end turned into the slot in the angle

              Now please remove the side cover

18.              On the inside of the opening side,

                 is the winder a perfect circle           or has it a triangular cut out?

19.              In each spool chamber there is a flat spring fixed to the side.

                   Are these on the inner side of each chamber

                                 or on the outer side of each chamber

20.              Examine the side of the lazy tong mechanism where it is attached to the body and

                   indicate with a tick in the box which of the following drawings apply
